Based on stylized mid-century design forms that I've been playing around with for many years now, such as my dingbat font "Satellite" (dingbatcave.com). This sputnik is constructed with seamlessly-welded steel orbits painted aqua green (think 1965 Bel Aire). Atom and orbiting neutron, electron and proton spheres are constructed with multicolored colored plastic. If this object really existed in reality, I would've wanted one when I was a kid.
